Working with a good attitude

Monday Morning Motivation – Attitude

Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially

Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day. Today we discuss attitude.

Hopefully the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week.  Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.

Attitude

Common sayings survive over time for a reason—because there is normally quite some truth to them. In my opinion, this one definitely holds huge amounts of truth:

  • Your attitude determines your altitude.

Perhaps the easiest, most common way to observe this is via the “I get to” versus “I have to” pairing:

  • I get to go to work.
  • I have to go to work.

No doubt, there are more than a few reading this post who lock onto the “I have to go to work” side of the equation.

Sure, sometimes work is no fun at all. HOWEVER, given today’s economic environment, would you rather be unemployed and suffering from the associated implications? Most of us would be wise to count our blessings of being fully employed.

Sure, sometimes your boss or co-workers are not the most enjoyable to spend time with. HOWEVER, are you letting their personalities and behaviors dictate how enjoyable your day is? There is no reason to allow anyone else to ruin your day/get inside your mind.

Attitude lives 100% within our own minds. We control it. It does NOT control us. Recognizing this is critical to achieving higher levels of satisfaction personally, professionally, and spiritually.

That brings us to this week’s question:

  • How’s your attitude?

Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning

Have a great week!

Curt
