Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially
Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day. Today we discuss "persistent."
Hopefully, the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week. Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.
I looked up the definition of persistent as I started writing this week’s MMM:
- Continuing firmly or obstinately in a course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition
Two key things jump out at me here:
The reality is that we WILL FACE CHALLENGES. The question is what we will do when we face these challenges. Those who are persistent, will obstinately push through the opposition and see amazing results. Those who are not persistent are likely to remain in a state of frustration.
CAVEAT! By “pushing through,” I am NOT talking about obstinately pushing against others with whom you are in a close relationship. (Been there, done that. Did NOT go well.) Instead, pushing through the obstacles obstinately means having the discipline and willpower to stay the course when you hit the challenging stretches—professionally, personally, or spiritually!
So, you can either push through and reap the rewards, OR you can remain stuck in a state of frustration. Given these two alternatives, to me, there is really only one option available—to be persistent.
That brings us to this week’s question:
- Where do you need to be more persistent in your life?
Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning.
Have a great week!
About MMM: Each week I publish “Monday Morning Motivation” in the hopes that at least one person will find a bit of inspiration and that this inspiration will have a positive impact on their life. My motivation comes from experiences, reading, sermons, and discussions.
