Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially
Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day. Today we discuss "adopt."
Hopefully, the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week. Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.
There are two major instances in which I think of the word “adopt”:
- The first is related to adopting children into your family.
- The second is related to adopting new behaviors in your life,
In both of these examples, the impact is MASSIVE. While I can’t speak to the experience of adopting a child, I can speak to the experience of adopting new behaviors.
For as long as I can remember, I have focused on “learning, growing, and living” in my life. For me, living is all about “learning and growing” as an individual. So, it follows directly that I MUST continually adapt vis-à-vis adopting new behaviors.
Evaluating what works and what does not work in each situation allows me to continually evolve my mental model of the world. Sometimes the “grand experiment” results in “no change required” to the way I do things. More often, though, it results in the adoption of a new tip or technique in how I approach a specific situation.
Adopting new behaviors has been critical to my growth and learning and, in turn, to living a life that feels amazing.
That brings us to this week’s question:
- What do you need to adopt in your life?
Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning.
Have a great week!
