Monday Morning Motivation – Significance

(Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially)

Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement — along with a good cup of coffee! — to start the day.

Hopefully the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week.  Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.

Significance

One of my favorite quotes is from Tom Ziglar and it states:

  • We are all on a journey. From survival to stability.  From stability to success.  From success to significance

It’s easy to get caught up in the day to day grind of work and believe that is all there is to life.  The reality is that very few of us will be remembered for what we do at work.  If you doubt that, check with a recent retiree and see how often they get rung up by work and/or they hear about the ongoing impact of their work.

Does that mean we should ignore work?  Nope.  Rather, I would argue that it means we should focus on “work” that is significant – be it work we are paid to do or “work” that we do for others.

IMHO perhaps the most significant impact that you can make is by introducing other individuals to new concepts that help them learn new things, grow as individuals or live their life more fully.  When you do these sorts of things you act in a way that is significant.

With that in mind:

  • What will you do this week that is significant?

Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning and I wish you all the best for the week.
