Woman wonders what her introspective inquiry will reveal

Monday Morning Motivation – Reveal

Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially

Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day. Today we discuss "reveal."

Hopefully the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week.  Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.

Reveal

It’s really interesting that in today’s world of increase social media and seemingly 24/7 access to everyone and everything, we seem to know less and less about those around us. Sure, we know a lot about where they like to eat or what their kids are doing; however, what about the things that are most important to them in life?

While kids and food are important things to me and many others, I would suggest that most people would be well served to make the time to dig into this week’s question. Undertaking this introspective task is both rewarding and terrifying.

Undertaking this introspective task
is both rewarding and terrifying.

  • Rewarding: This process is rewarding in that you often find things that “make your heart sing”—things where you feel connected and are able to invest your time, talent, and treasure in a manner that you feel 100% aligned with.
  • Terrifying: And it can be terrifying in that the process often reveals to us that the way we are living our lives is NOT aligned with what we truly value.

When we recognize this sort of misalignment, we are often faced with a choice. We can continue living “as is”—which for many of us is safe and secure—or we can pursue a new path that is often full of unknowns related to time, talent and treasure.

While we all “know” we should go with door number two, it is very scary to change our lives around and move away from what we know. Yet, when what we truly value becomes clear, the answer to this choice becomes clear as well!

That brings us to this week’s question:

  • What do your actions reveal about what you value?

Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning

Have a great week!

Curt
