Monday Morning Motivation – Thoughtful

Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially

Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day. Today we discuss "thoughtful."

Hopefully, the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week. Please feel free to forward the newsletter along to others who you think would benefit from the content.

Thoughtful

Thoughtful. Thoughtless. “Full” or “Less.”

What a HUGE difference.

Today Mr. Ziglar gives us “thoughtful” as the word of the week. I have considered this word often—REALLY! Always I come to the end part of “full” and compare/contrast it with the alternate ending of “less” in my mind.

When we care about someone, we keep their wellbeing at the forefront of our mind. Our mind is literally full of good thoughts about them.

Conversely, when we become self-absorbed, the thoughts of others often become less. And we say things, do things, and think about things that are not considerate.

All too often, I have become too thoughtless and not enough thoughtful. Fortunately, having come to realize and meditate on this, has allowed me to do a much better job of taking my thoughts captive (for those of you inclined to refer to the Bible, you may like 2 Corinthians 10:5). The impact in my life has been massive.

Consciously considering WHY you are thinking of things and not just WHAT you are thinking about has a transformational effect on how your mind works. Taking your thoughts “captive” allows you to filter what does and does not “live” in your mind. It is a case of out with the bad and in with the good. And, as a result, you become fuller of the good things and less full of the bad.

You can literally train your mind to think in new and much more productive ways. You can become full of the good thoughts and have less of the bad. You can move from thoughtless to thoughtful.

That brings us to this week’s question:

  • What is keeping you from being more thoughtful?

Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning

Have a great week!

Curt
