Monday Morning Motivation – Past

(Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially)

Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement — along with a good cup of coffee! — to start the day.

Hopefully the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week.  Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.

Past

It is interesting that as soon as you have an experience it is in the past.  And yet there is some part of the experience that lives on with you in the thoughts/memories of the experience.

What is so interesting is how two people can often have different views of what has happened in the past.  Why is that?

I would offer that there are two major reasons for the differences in memories of the past.  The first is each person’s history/set of life experiences.  Like it or not, our experiences shape how we look at the world.

The second is the issue of attitude.  Some people see things as opportunities.  Some as hurdles.  The difference in these two perspectives is like night and day when it comes to dealing with how things in the past are perceived.

Ultimately we are all influenced by the past.  The question I pose to each of you this week is:

  • How will you choose to view the past?

Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning and I wish you all the best for the week.
