Monday Morning Motivation – Visualization
(Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially)
Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement — along with a good cup of coffee! — to start the day.
Hopefully the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week. Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.
Visualization
We are closing in on the end of 2017 and the start of 2018. For the next six weeks, I am going to steal shamelessly from Hal Elrod’s “The Miracle Morning”. In the book, Elrod suggests six things that you should do to start each day. He suggests that you will be massively more productive AND happier as an individual if you take on his challenge and perform these six things at the start of each day.
I have incorporated all six into my routine – although one of them I shift to later in the day AND one of them I don’t do as regularly as I should. And, NO, I am not going to tell you which ones these are.
Hopefully you can take away an idea or two over the next few weeks that will help you to end 2017 strong and start 2018 even stronger. Have an awesome week!
Last week we spoke about affirmations. This week, we are taking on visualization.
Where affirmations focused on telling ourselves the individual we wanted to be, visualization involves actually taking the time to picture ourselves in explicit situations where we are functioning in that aspirational manner.
Think this is bunk? Take a look at many of the best athletes in the world and what they are doing prior to stepping on to the field of competition. Many, many of them are taking the time to quiet their mind (silence), tell themselves what they will do (affirmations), and visualize themselves doing it.
Visualization is incredibly powerful. Creating a picture in one’s “mind’s eye” is almost always the first step to accomplishing your dreams and goals.
That brings us to this week’s question:
• What is keeping you from visualizing the reality you want to create?
Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning and I wish you all the best for the week.
Curt
(Note: Each week I publish “Monday Morning Motivation” in the hopes that one person will find a bit of inspiration and that inspiration will have a positive impact on their life. My motivation comes from experiences, reading, sermons, and discussions.)
Blog post from this past week:
At F5 Financial Planning we focus on helping individuals and families find balance between faith, friends and family, fitness and finance. We make sure that they have the financial freedom to enjoy those things in life that are important to them. And while we believe the left-brain facts and data are critical; we work with our clients to get them in the right state of mind to focus on the goals they want to achieve.
