Monday Morning Motivation – Attunement

Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially

Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day. Today we discuss "Attunement".

Hopefully, the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week. Please feel free to forward the newsletter along to others who you think would benefit from the content.

Attunement

Are You in Tune with the People Who Matter Most?

Our good friend Mr. Webster defines attunement as “to bring into harmony.”

Now, given my complete lack of musical talent, maybe that’s why this word has always fascinated me. I can barely keep a beat — but the idea of being in tune with the people around me? That hits a different note.

When someone is attuned to us, we feel seen, heard, and understood. It’s like they just get us. Being surrounded by people like that — who really tune in — creates a safe, energizing space where we can breathe a little deeper and live a little fuller. Honestly, who doesn’t want that?

But here’s my confession: I don’t always make it easy for others to be attuned to me… or vice versa. More often than I’d like to admit, I find myself zeroed in on my agenda — my goals, my to-do list, my phone (yikes). And when I’m stuck in my own head, I miss those small but powerful chances to connect with the people around me.

Real attunement requires turning the focus outward — noticing, listening, being curious. It’s not flashy, but it’s powerful. And yes, it’s easier said than done. If you’re anything like me, you probably have moments where you fall short. And that’s okay. Thankfully, our families and friends are usually generous with grace and willing to give us another shot.

That brings me to this week’s question:

  • Are you improving the attunement between you and your family?

Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning.

Have a great week!
Curt
