Monday Morning Motivation – Try
Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially
Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day. Today we discuss "try."
Hopefully the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week. Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.
Try
Do or Do Not
There’s a simple statement that carries an incredible amount of wisdom:
“Do or do not. There is no try.”
Its power lies in how clearly it exposes the way our words shape our thinking—and ultimately, our actions. Words are not neutral. They influence our focus, our confidence, and the limits we place on ourselves.
The words we choose shape our reality
The way we speak about a situation often determines how we experience it. While words alone can’t instantly change our external circumstances, they can change something just as important—our internal environment.
The moment we change the language we use, we change how we interpret challenges, opportunities, and even ourselves.
We always have a choice
We have the ability to decide which thoughts are allowed to enter our minds—and which ones we refuse to entertain. This choice happens instantly. It doesn’t require perfect conditions, additional resources, or permission from anyone else.
When we say we’ll “try,” we often leave ourselves an exit. Trying suggests hesitation. It implies uncertainty. It allows room for retreat.
Doing, on the other hand, is decisive.
There is no “try”
When it comes to mindset, there is no middle ground. We either allow doubt, fear, and excuses to take root—or we don’t. What occupies our mind ultimately has far more influence on our direction than what’s happening around us.
Clarity leads to commitment. Commitment leads to action.
That brings us to this week’s question:
- What do you need to quit trying and start doing?
Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning.
Have a great week!
