Monday Morning Motivation – Relax
Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially
Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day. Today we discuss "relax."
Hopefully the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week. Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.

The Lost Art of Slowing Down
Modern life moves fast.
Between work responsibilities, family commitments, social obligations, endless notifications, and the constant stream of information competing for our attention, many of us have become accustomed to living in a perpetual state of motion. We rush from one task to the next, often measuring our worth by how busy we are.
But what if busyness isn't the same thing as productivity? What if constantly doing more is causing us to experience less?
Many people spend years chasing deadlines, checking emails, scrolling through social media, and filling every spare moment with activity. Yet despite being more connected than ever, many of us feel increasingly overwhelmed, distracted, and exhausted.
The truth is that our minds and bodies weren't designed to operate at full speed all the time.
When life forces us to pause—even briefly—we often discover something surprising. The world keeps turning. The urgent becomes less urgent. And we begin to notice the things that matter most.
Slowing down creates space.
Space to think.
Space to reflect.
Space to connect with the people we care about.
Space to appreciate a beautiful sunset, a quiet morning, a walk outdoors, or a meaningful conversation that isn't interrupted by a buzzing phone.
Unfortunately, slowing down doesn't come naturally in a culture that celebrates being busy. It requires intention. It requires choosing presence over productivity at times and rest over constant activity.
One of the most valuable things we can do is create small moments of pause throughout the day. Turn off notifications. Take a walk without your phone. Sit quietly with a cup of coffee. Read a book. Spend time in nature. Pray, meditate, or simply reflect.
These moments may seem insignificant, but over time they help restore clarity, reduce stress, and remind us what truly deserves our attention.
Life isn't a race to see how much we can accomplish. It's an opportunity to experience, appreciate, and enjoy the journey along the way.
Perhaps the greatest luxury in today's world isn't having more time—it's learning how to be fully present with the time we already have.
Action Item
This week, schedule at least 30 minutes of uninterrupted time for yourself. No emails. No social media. No multitasking. Simply slow down, be present, and enjoy the moment.
You may discover that doing less helps you experience more.
That brings us to this week’s question:
- Are you making time to relax?
Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning.
Have a great week!
