Monday Morning Motivation – Information
Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially
Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day. Today we discuss information.
Hopefully the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week. Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.

Where Are You Getting Your Information?
One of my earliest memories is sitting on the floor, thumbing through encyclopedias. My mom had bought into the sales pitch and brought a complete set into our home.
At the time, it may not have seemed like a great investment. But looking back, it turned out to be one of the best investments I’ve ever seen. I spent countless hours exploring those volumes, discovering new ideas, and learning about things I had never encountered before.
Information is fuel.
Without access to relevant information, we can't perform to the best of our abilities. Information helps us understand, question, learn, and ultimately make better decisions.
Unfortunately, obtaining “pure” information has become increasingly difficult.
Today, much of the information reaching us passes through filters—social media algorithms, news sources, influencers, political perspectives, and our own existing beliefs. Those filters can introduce significant bias before the information ever reaches us.
That’s why I believe we need to make a conscious effort to:
We need to see the facts and data
AND avoid the bias,
as we all have enough biases
already baked into our personal systems.
Filtering the information we allow into our minds is critical. What we read, watch, and listen to can influence how we think and the decisions we make.
That brings us to this week’s question:
- Where are you getting your information?
Are you actively seeking different perspectives? Are you checking the facts? And are you challenging your own assumptions?
Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning.
Have a great week!
Curt
