Monday Morning Motivation – Desire

Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially

Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day. Today we discuss "desire."

Hopefully the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week.  Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.

Desire

Desire is a powerful force. It pulls us forward, fuels ambition, and gives life a sense of direction. In its best form, it inspires growth, creativity, and the courage to chase something meaningful. But when left unchecked, it can quietly turn into restlessness — a constant feeling that something is missing.

Most of us have things we long for. A milestone. A possession. A moment we believe will finally make everything feel complete. We attach happiness to the “next thing,” convincing ourselves that fulfillment lives just one achievement away.

And yet, something curious often happens. We reach the goal, hold the prize, or step into the moment we imagined… and the feeling fades faster than expected. The excitement passes, and before long, a new desire takes its place.

Which raises an important question:
What if happiness isn’t waiting at the end of desire?

What if it’s found in learning to appreciate where we already are?

There is a quiet strength in contentment. It doesn’t mean giving up on growth or ambition. It simply means not postponing joy. It means recognizing that peace isn’t something we earn later — it’s something we practice now.

When we stop measuring life by what’s missing and start noticing what’s present, something shifts. Gratitude grows. Pressure fades. And happiness becomes less of a chase and more of a choice.

Maybe the real transformation begins the moment we stop asking, “What do I still need?”
And start asking, “What do I already have that I’ve been overlooking?”

That brings us to this week’s question:

  • What in life do you REALLY desire? (Or, put another way, do you know the difference between a want and a need?)?

Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning

Have a great week!

Curt
