Monday Morning Motivation – Hardworking

Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially

Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day. Today we discuss "hardworking." Hopefully, the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week. Please feel free to forward the newsletter along to others who you think would benefit from the content.

Hardworking

I hate that I get lazy!

While I know I should be hardworking, I get distracted by shiny objects. Sometimes I resemble a dog that runs around screaming "squirrel!" when I see something new and novel.

Why is that?

Well, it's because I don't always think about the long term versus the short term. To get a bit Biblical, it's about living in the flesh versus living in the spirit.

There are tons of things that look appealing, provide short-term satisfaction, and are easy. But the things in life that are valuable only come through hard work—faith, relationships, fitness, success, and significance.

Most everyone I know has the knowledge and ability to achieve what they want in life. Unfortunately, for many of us, we have to look at the hardworking folks around us—who are learning, growing, and living fully—in order to recognize that our own lack of discipline is all that is holding us back.

Fortunately, when we learn we are the problem, we are already 99% of the way to the solution. It's this FACT that keeps me going through life's many challenging times.

That brings us to this week’s question:

  • Are you hardworking?

Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning

Have a great week!

Curt
