Monday Morning Motivation – Half

Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially
Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day.
Hopefully the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week. Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.
Half
We’ve all heard the classic question: Is the glass half full or half empty? But in today’s fast-moving, AI-enhanced, hybrid-working world—have you really paused to reflect on what that question reveals about you?
At its core, this isn’t just a cliché. It’s a lens into your mindset.
A “half empty” view tends to come from a place of scarcity and limitation—where challenges feel like roadblocks and change brings resistance. This outlook aligns with what psychologist Carol Dweck calls a fixed mindset.
A “half full” view, on the other hand, is grounded in abundance and possibility—where obstacles are temporary, feedback is valuable, and growth is the goal. This is the essence of a growth mindset—a vital trait for thriving in 2025.
Now here’s the truth: None of us live 100% on either side. But we do lean one way more often than not. The real power lies in recognizing where we stand—and shifting when needed.
Take a moment. Re-read those last two sentences.
Still here? Still thinking? That’s a sign you’re already stepping into a growth mindset—because self-awareness is the first step toward growth.
That brings us to this week’s question:
- Are you a half-full or a half-empty individual?
Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning.
Have a great week!
