Monday Morning Motivation – Know
Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially
Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day.
Hopefully the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week. Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.
Know
We’ve all heard the saying: “No pain, no gain.” It’s almost a cultural mantra. But what if we’ve been looking at it the wrong way?
Instead of no pain, what if it’s about truly knowing pain?
“Know pain, know gain.”
Read that again.
“No” is a word of resistance—a wall, a void, a shutdown. Dale Carnegie even advised against using “no” when trying to connect with others, because it naturally puts people on the defensive. So even in this phrase we’ve grown up with, there's a subconscious cue that can limit us.
But know pain? That changes everything.
It’s no longer about avoidance. It’s about awareness. Understanding. Growth.
When you know your pain—when you face it, sit with it, learn from it—you open the door to meaningful progress. It's no longer about pushing through blindly, but about leaning in with purpose. That subtle shift in mindset transforms discomfort from an enemy into a teacher.
It also ties into something I shared last week: moving towards challenges instead of away from them.
Growth isn’t found in escape—it’s found in engagement.
That brings us to this week’s question:
- Are you willing to know the pains you face in your life?
Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning.
Have a great week!
