Do you need to be more optimistic in your way of thinking?

Monday Morning Motivation – Optimistic

Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially

Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day. Today we discuss "optimistic."

Hopefully, the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week. Please feel free to forward the newsletter along to others who you think would benefit from the content.

Optimistic

Today might be the easiest blog post I’ve ever written—being optimistic is something that has always come easily for me and is at the core of who I am. Thank you Mr. Ziglar for including it on your list of characteristics that we should all pursue!

To me, it’s “obvious” that you MUST be optimistic. With optimism comes the belief that good things will follow. And who in their right mind would NOT want good things to happen? In my mind, Stephen Covey captures the spirit of being optimistic beautifully in his quote:

  • All things are created twice. First mentally and second physically.

Sure, some things just “happen.” But a lot more things happen based on the power of faith, which is foundational to optimism. They happen when you create and believe them in your mind.

They happen when you believe.

Now the pessimists out there will say that being optimistic is nothing more than being naïve. How sad. Sure, bad things happen. But they’re a lot MORE likely to happen if you picture them happening—see Mr. Covey’s quote above.

The pessimists amongst us create a self-fulfilling prophecy by focusing on the negative versus the positive. Fortunately, for every yin there is a yang. And being optimistic has just as much power to create reality as does being pessimistic.

That brings us to this week’s question:

  • Do you need to be more optimistic in your way of thinking?

Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning

Have a great week!

Curt
