Monday Morning Motivation – Perceptions

Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially

Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day. Today we discuss perceptions.

Hopefully the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week. Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.

Perceptions

I'm not wading into politics this week — but I'm going to walk right up to the edge of it.

Division in America? Not exactly breaking news. With 330 million people crammed into one melting pot of a country, disagreement isn't a bug — it's the natural output of that much diversity in background, belief, and experience. It always has been, and it probably always will be.

Here's what does catch me off guard, though: not that we disagree, but how differently we each seem to be experiencing reality itself. Ask ten people about the economy, foreign policy, public health, or race in America, and you won't just get ten opinions — you'll get ten different versions of what's actually happening. Same headlines. Wildly different takeaways.

I'm not here to tell you who's right. I'm here to make one simple ask: do your own digging. Don't let a headline, a algorithm, or a hot take do your thinking for you. Form your view — but earn it first.

That brings us to this week’s question:

  • Are your perceptions accurate?

Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning

Have a great week!

Curt
