Monday Morning Motivation – Problem

Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially

Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day. Today we discuss "problem."

Hopefully the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week.  Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.

Problem

A problem isn’t an obstacle—it’s an invitation. A puzzle waiting to be explored. Something that demands curiosity, patience, and creativity. Tackling tough challenges is what fuels me; it’s where I feel most alive and engaged.

For me, wanting to face problems head-on feels completely natural. But I’ve learned that mindset isn’t universal. Most people instinctively avoid problems. They see stress. I see opportunity. (And yes—our household is full of people wired the same way, so extra appreciation is due to my wife for navigating all of us.)

The truth is, solving meaningful problems is hard. Even when you’re thoughtful, intentional, and disciplined, clarity doesn’t come easily. Many of the challenges we face—personal, professional, or financial—are complex, layered, and emotionally charged.

Yet there’s one step that always matters more than the rest.

Before solutions… before action… before progress…

You must clearly define the problem.

It sounds simple, but it’s often where we stumble. We rush to fix symptoms. We react instead of reflect. And when the problem isn’t clearly defined, even the best effort can miss the mark.

Something interesting happens once the problem is truly named. The mind opens up. Possibilities emerge. Direction becomes clearer. Solutions begin to surface naturally.

Today, I’m not asking you to solve anything.

That brings us to this week’s question:

  • Can you fully define the biggest problem you are now facing in your life?

Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning

Have a great week!

Curt
