Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially
Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day. Today we discuss exercise.
Hopefully the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week. Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.
As an engineer, I always like to think of things systematically. One of my favorite frameworks is the “personal, professional, spiritual” triad. To me, these three dimensions do a pretty good job of capturing the aspects of our lives where we focus.
Unfortunately, most of us (with me at the top of the list), we don’t always do a great job in all of the dimensions. A lot of times we get lazy and don’t “exercise” our personal, professional or spiritual muscles.
3 Other dimensions of “exercise”
While we often think of exercise in terms of our physical health (personal dimension), we often don’t think of it in terms of other dimensions. Some examples might include:
- Job skills
What’s interesting is that we would NEVER expect to improve our physical health without exercising, but many of us expect to improve in these other dimensions with no or minimal effort. Not gonna happen folks!
Exercise is not always fun at the time. However, almost everyone I know is happy AFTER they exercise. Furthermore, if they commit to a sustained exercise program, they are often ecstatic with the results over time.
That brings us to this week’s question:
- How are you exercising personally, professionally, and spiritually?
Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning.
Have a great week!
About MMM: Each week I publish “Monday Morning Motivation” in the hopes that at least one person will find a bit of inspiration and that this inspiration will have a positive impact on their life. My motivation comes from experiences, reading, sermons, and discussions.
