Monday Morning Motivation – Insight

Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially

Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day. Today we discuss "Insight".

Hopefully, the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week. Please feel free to forward the newsletter along to others who you think would benefit from the content.

Insight

Some words lend themselves very well to being “broken down” into parts. Insight is one of these and can be broken down into:

  • In – Something present, included
  • Sight - Vision

So, insight is “having the vision to see what is present.” Man, I would LOVE to have insight into myself all of the time! Too often, I have blind spots that cause me to stumble and perform in a sub-par manner. That’s because, when it comes to insight, I am NOT good at “looking inward” to see where my issues are at.

To counteract this weakness, I surround myself with others who ARE good at looking inside of others/me—others who have insight AND who are willing to share that insight with me.

Is it always fun to hear their insights? Absolutely not! Is it always HELPFUL to hear their insights, ABSOLUTELY! Do I always acknowledge their insights and change my behaviors accordingly? I’ll plead the fifth on that one!

That brings me to this week’s question:

  • Are you relying on the insight of others to avoid making costly mistakes in your life?

Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning.

Have a great week!
Curt
