Monday Morning Motivation – Encourage

(Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially)

Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement — along with a good cup of coffee! — to start the day.

Hopefully the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week.  Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.

Encourage

It is so easy to get wrapped up in what is going wrong and start to play the “twenty questions game”.  Unfortunately, while the scientist in me loves to ask questions when things go wrong, sometimes questions are EXACTLY the wrong approach.

On many occasions when something goes wrong, what people need is to be encouraged that it’s OK and that you have confidence that things will work out fine.  More than that, sometimes what they need is some positive words of encouragement.  Once they realize that you have confidence in them and feel your encouragement, they can bring to bear their skills and talents on the issue in question.

Results are certainly important.  However, it doesn’t much matter what results you get if the people joining you on the journey aren’t able to enjoy it along with you.  That’s an important lesson that gets overlooked far too often.

With that in mind, my question for you this week is:

  • Who did you encourage this week?

Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning and I wish you all the best for the week.

Curt
