Monday Morning Motivation – Giving

Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially

Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day. Today we discuss "kind"

Hopefully, the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week. Please feel free to forward the newsletter along to others who you think would benefit from the content.

Giving

The trait of giving is at the top of list that I really, really admire in individuals.  We are all familiar with the old adage that “it is better to give than to receive”.  Unfortunately, we are often guilty of violating this core principle of significance.

I believe that by nature we are all selfish.  It goes back to that story about a man, a woman, a snake and an apple.  We want what we want.  Even when it is NOT in our best interest.  This leads us to focus on ourselves versus others.  That leads us to do more taking and less giving.

Fortunately, this is one of the easiest traits to cultivate.  That’s because I believe that when we open our eyes to what is really important – relationships – we are drawn to become more giving.

Giving follows from focusing on others; from improving their lives.  And, I have seen again and again in my life that when I give to others, I feel better about myself; AND, I believe that I receive huge blessings in return!

The key is to REMEMBER that giving results in blessings and NOT focus on the short term selfish desires that we all possess.  If we can do this, giving comes naturally.

That brings us to today’s question:

  • How do you feel when you are more giving?

Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning and I wish you all the best for the week.
