Monday Morning Motivation – Positive Thinking

(Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially)

Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement — along with a good cup of coffee! — to start the day.

Hopefully the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week.  Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.

Positive Thinking

(Note:  Each week I publish “Monday Morning Motivation” in the hopes that one person will find a bit of inspiration and that inspiration will have a positive impact on their life.  My motivation comes from experiences, reading, sermons, and discussions.  For the next several months I’m going to be drawing from Zig Ziglar’s book “Over the Top”.  It’s a great source of inspiration and wisdom and I would be remiss if I didn’t give him credit up front for the motivation)

As a rule I’m one of the most positive thinking, optimistic individuals you will ever meet.  And when I’m in that mindset there is NOTHING that I don’t think that I can accomplish.

However, there have been a few times where life has gotten me in a bad, bad place.  And I turned off my positive thinking.  These times have NEVER worked out well.  In one instance the only way that things got back on track was when a friend put a size 11 boot in my backside and told me to get off the “pity pot”.  Even then, knowing full well he was right, I continued to struggle.

The way that you think about things is one of the most important things in the world.  The power of positive thinking is unlike any other force in this universe.  The irony is when you have it, it is the easiest thing in the world to keep hold of.  And when you don’t, it is the hardest thing in the world to find back.

I’m guessing most of the folks reading this can relate to a time when they were struggling.  In addition, even if you’re not struggling now, you likely know some else that is.  The biggest gift you can give them is swift kick in their backside with your size 11!  Tough love is hard to dish out, but one of the most precious things in the world.

That brings us to this week’s question:

  • Do you need size 11 applied to your backside or do you need to apply it to someone else’s backside to re-establish positive thinking in your/their life?

Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning and I wish you all the best for the week.

Curt
