Recent Market Volatility
The old saying goes that the only thing that is certain is death and taxes. While this may be true, I’d like to add an additional “truth”:
- If you are going to invest, you are going to experience volatility
I would venture to wager that 99.9% of the people that read these words will respond with an “of course” and an “I can handle that”. And yet, this past week when the market headed south just a bit, I started receiving phone calls and emails. To go along with that, the mainstream media painted a picture that the end of the world was near. PLEASE!
Volatility is EXACTLY the reason that we are able to capitalize financially on the stock market. It is also the reason that we MUST be disciplined if we wish to capture the market returns that are available
