Is it time to adjust your angle?

Monday Morning Motivation – Adjust

By: Curt Stowers

Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially

Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day. Today we discuss "adjust."

Hopefully, the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week.  Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.

An angle of one is not very much. However, it’s HUGE in terms of some things:

If you start out walking towards a target 1 mile away, and you’re just 1 degree off target, you’ll end up 92 feet away from the target. If the target is 10 miles away, you’ll be off by 920’. That’s three football fields!

Whether we are walking, driving, or flying, we do NOT set a course and “forget it.” Rather, we continually assess the environment around us and make small adjustments to stay “on course.” Unfortunately, in many areas of our lives, we fail to adjust course when the environment around us tells us we should.

For example, our friends and family continually send us signals about whether we are “on track” in our relationships. If we pay attention to the signals and adjust as appropriate, things stay on track. If we ignore the signals and continue down the wrong path, things rarely turn out well.

What’s so interesting about traveling—be it in a car on vacation OR through life— is that making a small adjustment along the way is rarely that difficult. However, we are MUCH better at making adjustments when driving than when living.

That brings us to this week’s question:

  • What do you need to adjust in your life?

Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning

Have a great week!
