Monday Morning Motivation – Allow

Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day. Today we discuss "allow."

Hopefully, the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week. Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.

Allow

What you allow to take place in your life is perhaps more critical than anything else in determining what your experience will be like on this Earth. While I fully understand that each of us faces a unique set of circumstances that greatly shape and influence how our lives play out, we also have the gift of free will that allows us to define what reality we can and will experience.

Ultimately, we choose who we interact with, what we think, and what we do each and every moment of each and every day. Understanding that we allow external influences into our lives and are not “forced” to do anything is critical to our physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

I am NOT suggesting that it is easy to push back against the currents of others and the currents of culture. I am suggesting that we have a choice about what we allow and don’t allow to shape our lives.

As we push back on unhealthy influences, we can and will strengthen our “independence” muscles. This will—over time—allow us to resist those unhealthy currents with less and less effort. When we commit to this process over the long-term, we will end up in a place where we only allow that which is healthy to enter our worlds. Not an easy journey. But one well worth pursuing.

That brings us to this week’s question:

  • What are you going to allow to take place in your life?

Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning

Have a great week!

Curt
