Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially
Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day. Today we discuss "desire."
Hopefully the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week. Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.
Desire is a fascinating topic. Properly controlled and harnessed, it can serve as motivation to do amazing things. Uncontrolled and unbridled, it can lead us down dark, destructive paths.
We all have things in life that are particularly appealing to us. Most always, that is because we believe that these things will provide us with a sense of happiness. However, all too often, as soon as we get the object of our desires, we find that we are NOT happy.
That leads us to an interesting conclusion:
- Perhaps happiness is NOT about what we desire but rather about being happy with what we currently have.
- Learning to be comfortable with where we are at is critical to finding a state of happiness in our lives.
That brings us to this week’s question:
- What in life do you REALLY desire? (Or, put another way, do you know the difference between a want and a need?)?
Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning.
Have a great week!
