Monday Morning Motivation – Make

(Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially)

Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement — along with a good cup of coffee! — to start the day. Hopefully the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week.  Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.

Make

I’m not a big fan of entitlement.  People expecting to be given something “just because” sits wrong with me.  Unfortunately, in my opinion, entitlement is becoming more and more common. So today I want to focus on “make” versus “give”. A disclaimer, I am a HUGE fan of giving – be it your time, your money, your efforts, your love or your support.  I’m not a big fan of someone saying “Give Me” – see the link to entitlement? What I AM a big fan of is “Make Me”.  As in “make me a better person”.  Now I’m not naïve enough to believe that anyone can “make” someone anything.  HOWEVER, we can all have a huge influence on others and the world around us. More than that, we can have a huge influence on ourselves.  We can choose to MAKE anything we want out of ourselves.  However, we can only do so when we put in the time and effort.  We’re NOT entitled to anything.  We have to make our own success.  And that involves taking actions.  That involves making critical decisions. With that in mind, my question for you this week is:

  • What are you going to make yourself do?

Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning and I wish you all the best for the week. Curt
