Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially
Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day. Today we discuss "renew."
Hopefully the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week. Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.
It’s always fun to look at words we speak all of the time—by taking the time to break them down into their elements:
- Re – Again
- New – For the first time
So, when we speak of “renewing” something, we speak of making or doing something for the first time, again. What an inherent contradiction there is here—how can you have it be the first time and also have it be something you have done/experienced previously?
Renewal speaks to a fresh start. It speaks to going back to ground zero and not allowing any of the baggage to hang around. For me, there are lots of areas in which I would like to go back and make a fresh start.
Historically, I’ve been reticent to take/make the necessary step to begin again. That’s because starting again often means facing where things did NOT go as planned, which normally means— in my case—places where I didn’t live up to my expectations. Facing failure is not exactly a fun thing to do!
However, facing failure, identifying what went wrong, and starting again is the framework that has helped me to grow massively personally, professionally, and spiritually. Because of that, it’s something I recommend strongly.
That brings us to this week’s question:
- What do you need to renew in your life?
Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning.
Have a great week!
About MMM: Each week I publish “Monday Morning Motivation” in the hopes that at least one person will find a bit of inspiration and that this inspiration will have a positive impact on their life. My motivation comes from experiences, reading, sermons, and discussions.
