Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day. Today we discuss "devoted."

Devoted
There are some words that have the most incredible connotation. When you hear them, a mental image is formed that is extremely positive—an image that inspires us, an image that causes us to have a deep, warm feeling inside ourselves. “Devoted” is such a word.
Mr. Webster defines devoted as:
- Having strong love or loyalty for something or someone
The definition points out two things:
- Love and loyalty
- Something or someone
Being devoted inspires us to aspire to some higher level of goodness (love and loyalty), in pursuit of what (something or someone) is beyond ourselves. When we look outside ourselves in an effort to make things better, we not only improve the world, we improve ourselves.
That brings us to this week’s question:
- To what are you devoted?
