Monday Morning Motivation – Rebuilding

By: Curt Stowers

Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially

Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day. Today we discuss "rebuilding."

Hopefully the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week.  Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.

Rebuilding

One of the things I most enjoy about producing MMM is the opportunity it gives me to slow down and reflect on things. In so doing I often see things that should have been obvious. One of the ways that these obvious things appear to me is when I simply break down the word I am focusing on for the week. That’s the case with rebuilding:

  • “re” – to do again
  • “building” – to construct

Rebuilding is all about putting back together the things that were together previously. Unfortunately, the implications of this is that the things that WERE together at one point in time have likely been torn apart.

Rebuilding after difficult decisions

I know that through my life I have made some decisions that were absolutely terrible. These decisions have had negative effects on my faith, friends, family, fitness and finances—the very things that I hold so near and dear to me AND that I focus on helping others achieve.

Does rebuilding always work?

The good news is that, in each of these areas, I also have been blessed and have experienced success. That has provided me with the “fuel” and motivation to NOT give up. But, to turn my attention to rebuilding in each of these areas, has rebuilding always worked? Not always. But, more times than not, my efforts to rebuild have led to massive progress.

Growing and learning

Furthermore, even when things did not turn out as I would have liked, in the process of rebuilding I have learned new things, grown as an individual, and lived life in the manner that I feel is the most appropriate—as restoration is part of God’s master plan.

That brings us to this week’s question:

  • Where are you focusing your rebuilding activities?

Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning

Have a great week!

Curt

About MMM: Each week I publish “Monday Morning Motivation” in the hopes that at least one person will find a bit of inspiration and that this inspiration will have a positive impact on their life. My motivation comes from experiences, reading, sermons, and discussions.
