Monday Morning Motivation – Satisfied

Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially

Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day. Today we discuss "satisfied."

Hopefully the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week.  Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.

Satisfied

I am absolutely terrible when it comes to getting to a state of mind where I’m satisfied.

Now in some ways that can be a good thing—when you’re not satisfied, it can drive you to pursue a higher level of performance. However, taken to an extreme, it can manifest itself in perfectionism. And that’s a bad thing.

A while back I had a friend share this with me:

  • You are NOT a perfectionist. You simply live with a perfectionist mindset.

It’s so important to recognize that often times we label/define ourselves in manners that shape how we think and act. Making/taking the time to examine these labels is invaluable.

That is why it is so important to do the following:

  • Surround yourselves with individuals who know you.
  • Listen to what they share with you.
  • Spend quiet time contemplating what they share.
  • Adjust your thoughts and behaviors accordingly.

When we focus on the above four things, we learn and grow as individuals. And accepting that it’s about the growth (journey) and not the outcome (destination) is critical to achieving a state of satisfaction.

That brings us to this week’s question:

  • What would it take for you to be satisfied?

Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning

Have a great week!

Curt
