Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially
Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day.
Hopefully the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week. Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.
Life can be downright scary at certain times. In fact, it can be so scary that we can get to the point where we are crippled with fear and unable to act. Not a good thing.
I would argue that the antidote to fear is love. To understand my view, it helps to understand my definition of both fear and love:
- Fear is the feeling that you are being put in a state of risk.
- Love is the willingness to put yourself at risk for another.
Mind you, fear IS REAL—and rational! And, the “normal” response to fear is to move AWAY from the risk factor. The abnormal—some might say supernatural—response is to move TOWARDS the risk factor. We are motivated to do that when the potential gain outweighs the potential risk. And love is the epitome of anti-fear in that you put yourself at risk for another.
We each have a choice which path we will take as we encounter situations—fear or love. Often the choice is very challenging as the risks are very real.
That brings us to this week’s question:
- Are you letting fear or love direct your life?
Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning.
Have a great week!
